FirmTech TechRing review

TechRing review

The FirmTech TechRing is a $275 erection ring that gives firmer, longer erections and measures firmness, quality, duration and nighttime erections in a free app.

Published by FirmTechLast updated November 2026

Is the TechRing worth $275?

The TechRing is worth $275 if you want data, not only performance. It gives the same firmer, longer erections as FirmTech’s $60 Performance Ring, then adds sensors, overnight tracking, an Erectile Fitness Score from 0 to 100 and a 1-year warranty. If you only want the ring effect, the Performance Ring costs $215 less.

TechRing at a glance

What is the FirmTech TechRing?

The TechRing is FirmTech’s smart erection ring: a soft, medical-grade, latex-free ring with built-in sensors, worn at the base of the penis and behind the testicles. During sex it supports firmer, longer erections and records firmness and duration. Overnight it counts and measures nighttime erections, which FirmTech notes healthy men have 3 to 5 of each night. The FirmTech app rolls everything into an Erectile Fitness Score and lets you log sleep, drinks, workouts and medication to see what moves it. Data is stored to HIPAA standards, never sold, and shared with a doctor only if you choose.

    Tech Ring Performance

“The tech ring provides valuable information and helps to see trends over time with benchmark data to see where you stand relative to others in your age group (and others for that matter). You can see results from different influences, such as how many drinks you had that night and medication, if any, taken. Additionally it is very functional, effective and easy to use as a “normal” ring, but more comfortable and provides data on that activity as well. Wearing overnight takes some getting used to and I found it best to build up to that over time. Definitely works as intended in both the data collection and functionality. I also use the FirmTech non-tech rings on occasion as well and they are easy to use and effective. A lot of work went into this by Elliot and his team and you can tell! Very innovative.”

TechRing questions

More answers on reviews, price, fit and safety in the full ED ring FAQ.

What does the TechRing measure?

The TechRing measures firmness and duration during sex, plus the count, strength and length of nighttime erections. The app rolls these into an Erectile Fitness Score from 0 to 100, and lets you log sleep, drinks, workouts and medication to see what affects it.

Why track nighttime erections?

Nighttime erections happen without arousal, so they are a clean read of blood flow, nerves and hormones. FirmTech notes that healthy men have 3 to 5 erections a night during sleep, and that changes often appear there before they are noticed during sex.

Is it safe to sleep in the TechRing?

FirmTech says yes. The TechRing is designed and studied for overnight wear for up to 12 hours, and a study on the safety of a smart penile constriction ring worn overnight was presented at AUA 2024. The Performance Ring and MaxPR do not track sleep.

How long does the TechRing battery last?

The TechRing battery lasts up to 12 hours on a full charge, which covers a full night of tracking. A full charge takes 2 to 4 hours with the included USB cable. The Performance Ring and MaxPR need no charging.

How do I set up the TechRing?

Charge it, pair it and wear it. Plug in with the included USB cable, download the FirmTech app for iPhone or Android, turn on Bluetooth and follow the prompts. Data syncs to the app after you wear it during sex or overnight.

Why does the TechRing cost more than the other rings?

The TechRing costs $275 because it adds built-in sensors, a rechargeable battery and a Bluetooth app on top of the same doctor-designed fit. It also carries a 1-year warranty on electronics with 2 sleeve replacements, compared with 3 months on the $60 rings.
